Karaoke Equipment we Prefer

Karaoke equipment setup

I wanted to make a post sharing details about the equipment and products we use for our karaoke events. Additionally, I wanted to highlight the fantastic companies we purchase these items from.

  • Laptop: I use an ASUS TUF gaming laptop with an AMD Ryzen 9 processor, 16GB RAM, and a 1TB hard drive. This laptop is absolutely amazing! It not only excels in speed and reliability but also boasts a stunning design.

  • External Hard Drive: SanDisk 1TB Extreme Portable SSD. I love this hard drive, it’s small, tough and has plenty of space.

  • Mixers: My go to mixer is the Yamaha MG12XU 12 input, 4 bus mixer. I absolutely love this mixer! It's so compact and rugged, yet it has a multitude of inputs along with a built-in effects panel. It's simply the best mixer for the money.

  • Wireless Microphones: I use the Samson 288m Dual Wireless Mics. These mics are absolutely fantastic! Not only do they provide unbelievable sound quality, but they are really durable and impressive range.

  • Wired Microphones: We use multiple wired microphones for our karaoke parties. Among our collection, two standout favorites are the Samson QX8 wired mic, known for its exceptional sound quality and impressive durability, and the classic Shure SM58, renowned as the gold standard in microphones. Both mics offer a delightful tactile experience and deliver stellar sound performance.

  • Powered Speakers: My favorite go-to powered speaker brand is Electro-Voice. For different events, I choose between the ZLX-12 and the ZLX-15 models. The EV ZLX speakers never fail to impress with their sleek appearance, powerful and clear sound output, and exceptional durability.

  • Subwoofers: We use the QSC KSUB Dual 12” Subwoofers. All I can say is wow! These subs are amazing. With 2- 12” subs in each enclosure, you get huge, thumping bass that you will feel in your chest.

  • DJ Table/ Desk: Rockville ROCKBOOTH XL DJ Event Booth Facade w/Built in Table. This is one of the things I can’t believe I didn’t get sooner. It looks awesome, it’s the perfect size, hides all your wires, folds into a bag that fits in my car and looks amazing.

  • Wireless XLR: Joyo 5.8Ghz Wireless XLR Transmitter and Receiver.I use wireless these transmitters to conveniently send signals from my mixer to my powered speakers. These transmitters are highly effective, built to last, and eliminate the need to run cables all over the place, saving a significant amount of setup time.

  • XLR Cables: I mainly use Pig Hog and InnoGear cables. They are reasonably priced and last forever.

  • Speaker Stands: I like the PRORECK speaker stands, they’re strong and inexpensive.

  • Lighting: We use a lot of different types of lighting, our favorites are the Chauvet GigBars and Par lights.

While there are a lot of great companies to choose from, these are my go to places to buy equipment.

Amazon is great because the selection is great, has good prices and has fast shipping.

Reverb is a great place to find used equipment.

Zzounds is one of my favorite places to shop for equipment. They have great prices and fast shipping.
