I’ve never sung karaoke before, Any advice?

Just remember, it’s not a singing competition, it’s karaoke. No one cares if your not a great singer, if you have fun, they’ll have fun!

Pick a song you love, don’t worry about what you think the crowd wants to hear. It’s hard to get in front of people, so if you know and love the song, it’ll make it much easier.

It’s always a good idea to practice the song a couple of times. You can practice using Karafun.com or Youtube.com. When using Youtube, just search for the song and artist you want, followed by karaoke. (Turn the Page Bob Seger karaoke)

If you’re nervous, I can add the vocals back into the song and you can sing along. (no one will even know)

Do you offer any services other than karaoke?

We offer a variety of services, including Corporate team building games, trivia, live vocalists, photographers and even a magician

Can I combine different services?

Absolutely, everything we offer is customized to fit your specific needs.

I’d like to host a karaoke party in my house, How much room do you need?

We can fit our equipment almost anywhere. Ideally, we use about a 5’x5’ area. If you’re tight on space you can send me a couple of pictures and I can tell you how we’ll set up.

I want to host a kids karaoke party, what’s the youngest that can sing?

We have kids of all ages sing, if they can sing alone with a song, they can sing karaoke. For the younger kids we add the vocals back into the track so they can just sing along.

What happens if I rent karaoke equipment and I have a problem?

While the equipment is easy to use and we give you a lesson, sometime things happen. In the event there is a problem we leave our cell phone number with you. We can walk you through any problem very quickly.

I’d like to rent karaoke equipment, is it hard to run?

No, it looks a lot harder than it is. After we set everything up, we go over how to work everything, we also leave instructions. 90% of people have zero problems, if there is a problem, you can call us and we can walk you through the issue.

My birthday is coming up and my friends and I would like to come to one of your events, do you offer anything special, or can I save a table?

We do a lot of giveaways, if it’s your birthday and we have something to give away we’ll make sure you get one. We will also call you up and play our birthday song and have everyone clap for you. I personally can’t save tables, but if you call ahead most places will help you out.

Is it okay to come to karaoke alone?

Yes, karaoke is like a big family. You may come alone, but the odds are you will leave with new friends. If you’re worried about walking to your car alone ask us, we’ll be happy to walk you.

Do you offer any discounts for charity events?

We do a lot of charity work, contact us and we’ll work something out.

There is a certain song I’d like to sing, how can I check if it’s available?

Karaokenerds.com is a karaoke database. You can search any song to see if it’s available and who makes it.

What happens if I host a karaoke party and no one sings?

This has actually never happened. If for some reason people don’t want to sing, we play music and get people dancing

When you say you can add the vocals back into the song, what does that mean?

Karaoke tracks have the music without the vocals and the lyrics are on a screen. We are able to add the vocals back in so you sing alone with the song (like you would in your car) but it’ll still have to lyrics on the screen.

I make my own music; Can I bring my own backing track to sing with?

Absolutely, the best thing to do is bring a thumb drive with your backing track on it. Please show up at least 15 minutes before the start time so I can get it ready for you without holding up the rotation.

What karaoke tracks/service do you use?

We prefer Karafun, they have the best quality and are constantly updating their songbook. We also have most tracks available in Sound Choice, Karaoke Version, Chart Buster, and Legends. If you prefer one of these companies over Karafun, just write it on the slip or let the Dj know.

How does a karaoke rotation work?

We use karaoke rounds. Each singer will get to sing once per round. The order of the first round is based on the order I receive the slips. In the following rounds I will start mixing in new singers with the singers from the 1st round. Our goal is to get new singers up within 30 minutes of arriving.

Why do you still use karaoke slips, isn’t that kind of old school?

The two major reasons we still use slips is:

1.      When someone hands a slip in, I can see who the person is, that way if there is a problem I can come find you while another person is singing. (it keeps the rotation moving)

2.      When someone new hands a slip in, I can introduce myself. I find it helps people feel more comfortable.

Can I move up in the rotation if I tip you or buy you a drink?

While we really appreciate tips and when people buy us drinks, the order is the order. I strongly believe it should be far for everyone. I don’t move anyone up for any reason. (including my friends and regulars)

Why doesn’t any karaoke company make the song I want to sing?

While most songs are available, there are some songs that aren’t. Normally there is two reasons for this. 1. The artist doesn’t want to sell the rights to a karaoke company. 2. The karaoke company making the track has to buy the rights to the song, if the song isn’t popular enough the karaoke company won’t be able to sell enough copies of the track to make money.
